Dollars Make Sense Leadership and Empowerment Project
Women's Program
The Jamaican Canadian Community Women's League of Montreal, Inc. (JCCWLM) is gladly to present our Dollars Make Sense Leadership and Empowerment Project- Women's Program for the March 2009-February 2010 year. The JCCWLM has been in existence for 9 years. We are a non-profit organization that received our Federal Charter in 2001 under a social and educative mandate. Membership ranges from 18 years of age and up. The middle-aged and senior ladies are there to encourage the younger ladies to continue their education and gain positive experience in the work force, to build up their self-esteem, in order to establish themselves in the community. Our objective is to create awareness about current women issues; however we also encourage and support women and men from different cultural backgrounds in their educational and professional endeavors such as business and career development, home economics, entrepreneurship, computer training and so forth.
The goal of the Women's Program is to assist women in the community to improve their financial decision making skills as well as to boost their self-confidence by increasing their financial making capabilities. Therefore, financial literacy is a concept aimed to promote smart financial decision making skills and money-management capabilities. Therefore, the objective will allow women to improve the economic climate of their respective community and to become financially empowered.
In this program, we offer financial literacy information & training sessions as well as civic participation and leadership development workshops. Each session will be no more than 2 hours in length.
All our services, workshops and events are free of cost. Please find enclosed the registration form to complete should your company/organization wish to receive our services. Indicate several dates of your availability so that way we can accommodate you in the most efficient way possible.
Thank you for your cooperation!
