Dear Members and Friends,
The Jamaican Canadian Community Women’s League of Montreal Inc. has now been in existence for 9 years. I would like to thank all of the Founders, Executive Board of Directors, Members and Supporters that have helped us achieve all that we have thus far. In expansion of our social and educative mandate, we now have several programs to suit the community at large, being both youth and seniors, and both men and women.
Not only do we continue to implement educational workshops funded by the Ministre de l’immigration et des Communautés Culturelles, we have, since 2008, launched the “Reach out to Seniors’ Program” funded by Human Resources and Social Development Canada New Horizons For Senior Program, which is now being implemented for the second time. Furthermore, for the first time this year, we bring to you the “Dollars Make Sense Leadership and Empowerment Project”, which is funded by the Women’s Program, Status of Women Canada as well as the “Dollars Make Sense (Cents) Project” funded by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers in partnership with the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi de Côte-des-Neiges.
The JCCWLM has also continued to give back to the community through its Scholarship Fund, created in 2002, to assist 1st or 2nd year nursing student, with contributions from the provincial government and the Cimetiere Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
